Below are a list of frequently asked questions I get asked. If you have a question that is not covered here then do not hesitate to contact me tel: 01723 351347 or 079 7550 0231 or use the contact form on this site.
What photographic style do you use?
I try and keep posed shots to a minimum. That usually means just organising poses for the group photographs and any location and portrait opportunities that may materialise during the shoot. Other than that my aim is to fade into the background and unintrusively create the kind of imagery that can only be made when people are behaving totally naturally. I have developed my own unique style of photography and post shoot processing and you are invited to take a peek at the wedding page for some examples.
There is a problem in that I don't like having my picture taken. How do we get around that?
This is something I can well understand and identify with in that i don't like having my picture taken either! You can rest assured that and I will always strive to show you at your best. There is no doubt though that making people feel relaxed and happy makes things so much easier. That is why I offer a small pre wedding shoot as standard. It enables us to get to know each other and ensures you will feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera before the big day arrives.
How long before we see the pictures after the wedding?
I aim to process the shoot within one week (though it could be longer during times of high demand) but get a few Facebook ready samples to you before then. You will be given an access code to view the shoot on an online gallery in the client area of my website which you can use yourself and pass on to friends and family. Here you will have the option of ordering mounted prints, framed images, canvasses etc.
How many photographs would you take on a full day shoot?
There is no definite answer but the number of locations used throughout the day and the amount of time between the ceremony and reception are factors which can influence the final number. It varies but as a rough guide I would expect to shoot around 1000 to 1900 images.
Do you take formal shots as well as candid photos?
Absolutely! group shots are an essential part of the day and provide a lasting reminder of the occasion.
I have got a relative who has got a very good camera. Why shouldn't we use him?
Having equipment and knowing how to use it properly are two different things. Wedding photography when done well, provides a timeless record which can be viewed by innumerable generations in the future. It needs to be done by a seasoned professional and as such it is certainly no place for the amateur. If somebody intends to learn by their mistakes let it not be at your wedding! When you hire me you know that you can rely on getting top class professional results. I am a highly trained qualified member of the two main photographic bodies (BIPP and MPA) and take ongoing professional skills training as well as being experienced and fully insured.
What about albums?
Albums are available as an optional extra and can be designed and ordered through myself. The typical album uses around 100 images, is reasonably priced and comes with a whole host of options. You choose which photographs you want in the album from your online gallery and I work with you make it a reality using bespoke design. I then send you proofs of how the finished album will look and when you are satisfied I set the wheels of production in motion.
How much digital manipulation is included?
Every image is assessed for colour and tone, cropping etc. using colour calibrated equipment. In the vast majority of cases this is enough to make each image look really great. We can also reduce facial lines, whiten teeth, nip and tuck and reduce ageing if necessary. With modern photographic techniques almost everything is possible!
What quality are the images on the memory stick that i can print myself?
All images are supplied in jpeg format, high resolution and unwatermarked, having been colour corrected and edited etc. However we cannot guarantee the quality of prints once it is out of our hands. We would therefore highly recommend ordering products available in our online gallery to ensure the highest quality.
What about copyright?
A licence is provided along with the photos on the memory stick. The licence covers you for unlimited personal use of the imagery worldwide and in perpetuity.
What equipment do you use?
The equipment I use is of very high professional quality and costs many thousands of pounds. I use a top class camera / lens combination not only for my main setup but also for my backup kit. I also have at my disposal various flash and studio lighting setups which equip me for any eventuality.
Do you charge for travel?
All travel and expenses are included for weddings within a 60 mile radius. If the wedding shoot means travelling further afield then I charge expenses at cost. This could entail a mileage charge of 50p per mile and overnight accommodation if the event is more than a 2 hour drive away from Scarborough. Overnight accommodation would typically be of Travelodge or Premier Inn standard. For weddings abroad you will be expected to meet the cost of my transfers, flight and accommodation only.
How do we book you?
Initially call us on 079 7550 0231 or 01723 351347 or use the contact form to confirm availability. A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of £200.

Like all quality wedding photographers we work on a first come first served basis. An appointment to meet or a quotation received from us does not confirm a booking. In the event of two couples requiring the same day then the couple who are first to pay the deposit and provide the completed booking form will have been deemed to have booked that day.

Whilst a year or more down the road might seem like a long time, Aiden Clarke Photography does get booked well in advance. Early booking is therefore highly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Tel: 079 7550 0231 or 01723 351347 for a speedy quotation based on a bespoke package tailored to your requirements. Alternatively fill in the enquiry form and we will reply (in most cases) within an hour.
